Chinese firm to take over British steel

Joanne Parkinson

9th March 2020

The Jingye group have previously stated that they will save over 3000 jobs in Teeside and Scunthorpe as part of the takeover; although there are still some concerns for jobs before the deal goes through.

Whilst the company have said that they envisage a future for the industry in the UK, union officials are still concerned - for at least 500 jobs are still potentially at risk.
