Amazonian national park set to be extended

The Colombian national park; Chiribiquete, in the northern region of the Amazon is set to be extended from 2.8 to 4.3 million hectares. The decision has come from President Juan Manuel Santos.
The plans to extend the national park will preserve an area of the Amazon that is known to be biodiverse. It is hoped also that the expansion will enable the area to be named as a UNESCO World Heritage site. For more information on this, read the following report...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/worl...
