Surveillance Capitalism

Surveillance capitalism is a contemporary market structure where the raw material is human experience rather than nature. Tech platforms extract vastly more behavioral data from users than necessary for service delivery. This "behavioural surplus" is processed by algorithms into predictive models of future human choices and sold in futures markets to advertisers and insurers, prioritising corporate profit over individual autonomy.
