Your hub for practical safeguarding learning

The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel learning hub is a strong teaching and professional development resource because it combines authoritative safeguarding guidance with practical, accessible learning materials designed for real-world use in education, social care, health and safeguarding settings.

It provides evidence-based learning where it draws directly from serious child safeguarding reviews and national cases which can help to inform professionals and allow us to learn from real incidents and improve practice. In addition to this, it is a practical force where resources are designed to strengthen frontline decision-making rather than simply explain policy. The Panel states that its purpose is to identify ‘what happened and why’ so practitioners can improve outcomes for children.

It covers a wide range of safeguarding topics including; sexual abuse, neglect, safeguarding vulnerable babies and supporting Black, Asian and Mixed Heritage children. This can allow practitioners to target specific training to specific risks and vulnerabilities.

The guidance uses a multi-agency perspective where the materials reflect contributions from education, social care, policing, health and voluntary-sector professionals which makes it especially useful for collaborative safeguarding training.

It is important to note that the guidance is aligned with statutory guidance and follows frameworks such as Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education. This resource is incredibly useful for continuing professional development (CPD) and training delivery where it provides toolkits, e-learning modules, animations, case studies and bite-sized learning resources that can support staff induction, safeguarding refreshers and general CPD.
