Film representations of crime

Film representations are often seen as fictional representations of crime. They tend to focus on the more sensational aspects of crime, often centring on violent and sexual crimes committed by psychotic strangers. Furthermore, films have been accused of glamourising crime, particularly organised crime, through films such as the Godfather and Scarface. Film representations of crime can also be seen through biographies of famous cases and famous criminals.
