Ethics of research

The ethics of research refers to the moral codes and guidelines that researchers must commit to when undertaking any form of research. These include ensuring that the research subjects are kept protected from psychological and physical harm, that they consent to taking part in the research and that their data is stored in a confidential and secure manner. The Crime Survey of England and Wales in subject to these ethical guidelines and must ensure that the data collected about individuals provides them with anonymity and is stored in accordance with GDPR guidelines.
