In My Language highlights the different methods of communication. The author is autistic and has a different way of communicating with the world. It causes us to ask difficult questions of ourselves. This is brings into the fore questions about the purpose of language, what is the function of communication as well as highlighting whether words are a necessary part of our interaction with the world.
