Car manufacturing and services sector see the UK economy grow faster than expected.

GDP output expanded by 0.3% during November 2025. This improvement followed a slight decline the previous month and exceeded expectations of 0.1% growth.

Manufacturing experienced a recovery, particularly the automotive industry. In part, this was fuelled by Jaguar Land Rover's factories returning to normal operations after a cyber security attack.

The service sector also contributed positively, with accountancy and tax advisory businesses reporting increased activity.

Whilst this represents forward movement, economists emphasise that overall economic performance remains relatively weak.

The construction industry experienced a 1.3% reduction in output, with unusually rainy weather conditions affecting building projects.

Business confidence appeared to improve following the Government’s Budget announcement, but concerns remain about rising living costs and taxation levels.
