 Loake Shoemakers was set up in 1880 by 3 brothers; Thomas, John and William and have been making classic shoes ever since.
 I've just treated myself to a pair of their brogues. Not cheap. £205 a pair.
 The video below on how a pair of their brogues are made is quite simply, business gold dust. It not only covers the production process (200 operations go into making a pair of brogues with most done by eye, rather than machine guides) but also key business issues such as the chain of production, inter-dependence, motivation, the quality of raw materials and adding value.
 The video also looks at how, in a disposable age where most things are thrown away, there is still a market for timeless classics and enduring quality.
