A handy interactive diagram illustrating trends in unemployment since 1984. This could be a useful starter for looking at the topic of unemployment with students.

On the guardian news website they have produced a very good interactive diagram charting the trends in unemployment since 1984, on the chart it shows noteable events that have impacted on unemployment levels. This could be used as a starter or a talking point on lessons on unemployment.
