The official Google blog today carried a feature on a conference call held by Google to outline their views on where display advertising is heading over the next few years. There is a clear shift towards making stronger and more effective use of social networks to target consumers and to gain valuable feedback from people (and their friends) about the types of ads they like and wish to see more of and also the reverse. It makes for interesting reading and might be a good article to push towards students interested in reading more about innovations in online marketing and advertising. Here is the link.
