A delightful case study about a business start-up set up by two professional financiers who wanted to experience the challenges of setting up a small business…

The Starting Out series in the Telegraph is a wonderful source of examples of start-up case studies. A recent feature on Fruitful Office is an excellent example.

There are lots of useful bits in here for AQA AS Unit 1 and Edexcel AS Unit 1. For example:

Source of business idea
Start-up sources of finance
Marketing for a start-up
Employing people

It looks like the two guys running the business are really rolling their sleeves up to make it a success - though they may find the London office market a little tougher in 2008 and 2009 as cost-cutting takes hold in the offices of many financial services and professional firms.
