EasyJet boss Carolyn McCall named new ITV CEO

From flights to schedules, one of Britain's most admired CEOs has landed a new role.

Carolyn McCall is joining ITV after 7 years as Chief Executive of EasyJet. She is a high profile businesswomen who must now steers ITV through another challenging period as the television industry continues to go through a period of rapid change.

Some wags on Twitter have responded in typical fashion - McCall heads to ITV whilst her luggage heads to Channel 5 being a notable example! Others have questioned whether programmes will start on time! Some are anticipating a lot more pilots in the months ahead.

Don't forget though that EasyJet shares have risen by more than 200% since Carolyn McCall was made CEO in 2010.
