CSR and Brand Building | A Winter Warming Act from Asda
7th October 2022
Good move this, and perhaps one that other supermarket groups might replicate as the days get shorter and colder.
Grocery Gazette reports here on how Asda are offering people aged 60 a meal deal of soup, a roll and unlimited tea and coffees for just £1 in any of its 205 cafes.
The offer is available throughout November and December all day, every day and will run alongside the current ‘Kids eat for £1’ offer. I suspect it will be extended into the New Year too, particularly as the winter sets in and living costs continue to rise.
According to primary market research undertaken by Asda using their customer "Income Tracker" older customers are disproportionately affected by spiralling living costs
The research indicates that 65-to-74-year-olds have experienced a £163 year-on-year drop in disposable income in August, 2022 as rising inflation continues to outstrip pension and savings growth.
Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons...over to you.
