Crossing the line from unethical to illegal behaviour.

Students are sometimes confused about the difference between unethical and illegal behaviour so I use the following picture as an example of where a business has “crossed the line”.

I then get the students to create (and draw) their own ideas of how a business might be able to increase their demand (either unethically or illegally). I hand out a piece of A4 paper to each student (or pair) and there are usually some good ideas that I can quickly scan and e-mail to myself. I put them up on the data projector and we can discuss whether it would be illegal behaviour or simply unethical - works a treat!
