World Cup final tickets will cost thousands of pounds for the cheapest seats.

FIFA has announced controversial prices for the 2026 World Cup that have sparked significant criticism from football supporters' organisations.

The most expensive tickets are for the final match at MetLife Stadium in New York, where the cheapest seats will cost over £3,100, rising to approximately £6,600 for premium category tickets. At the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the lowest-priced final ticket cost £450.

For group stage matches, FIFA has abandoned the traditional pricing model used in Qatar, where tickets cost between £68.50 and £219 regardless of which teams were playing.

Instead, they have implemented a tiered system based on how popular or attractive each fixture is perceived to be. This means supporters of England will pay more than Scotland fans for comparable group stage matches.

Dynamic pricing will not be used in the main ballot or national association allocations, but it will be applied to FIFA's resale platform.

Football Supporters Europe has described the pricing as extortionate and called for sales to be halted immediately.

Several fans interviewed explained that the pricing structure may force them to reconsider their plans entirely.
