Where should multinationals base their manufacturing operations? What are the risks involved in changing location? How can these risks be mitigated?

This five minute video from Reuters Business provides a concise discussion of some of the key issues, focusing on the challenges faced by multinational garment brands as they seek to find the optimal location for their manufacturing requirements.

As you can see, it is not all about choosing the location with the lowest cost, though that is still important. The external environment facing multinationals like this is increasingly volatile, which makes risk management even more important.
