Not only was Sir Conan Doyle's creation one of the greatest minds in literature, he was practised in the noble art of pugilism, and the way he approached a fight is exactly how students should approach the exam paper.

I show my students these 2 video clips from Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, with the question “Why is Sherlock so successful?”

Sherlock Holmes Opening Fight Scene

Sherlock Holmes Fight Number 2

The answers they give correlate perfectly with what they should do to succeed in their exam.

1.Read the opponent/case carefully

2.Plan before jumping in

3.Adapt attack/answers depending on the strengths and weakness of the opponent/business

I hope it helps.
