Auctioneer Enjoy a Boom as Retailers Suffer a Downturn

Retailers might be struggling, but it's a boom time for auctioneers!

Buyer beware, of course. But, you can pick up many a bargain at an auction whether you attend in person or (as increasingly the case) online.

Great article here in The Guardian on a booming auction business that is benefitting from the problems of retailers on the high street.

It looks like the auction business is counter-cyclical. When increasing numbers of businesses are failing, or need to reduce inventories, then auction businesses like this enjoy a sharp upturn in demand.
