Here are some workings for the calculation questions in the AQA BUSS1 (Love Wood) exam paper…

The contribution calculation was pretty straightforward. The market size estimate was a bit trickier - involving two stages:

(1) Estimate the market size based on the competitor information (revenue / market share) for 2009
(2) Apply the 10% market growth projection to (1)

The cash flow forecast fill-ins should have been straightforward:

- Opening balance in Jan-Mar: £25,600

- Net cash flow for Apr-Jun: £(9,600)
