A fabulous case study of a start-up business has recently been published which describes how Paul Meyer defied the start-up odds to make a success of his indoor wind tunnel business idea.

The Starting Out article in the Telegraph would make an ideal case study to use with AQA AS Business Unit 1 & Edexcel AS Business Unit 1 students.

The piece covers a wide variety of relevant content, including:

- Sourcing the business idea
- How raising finance for an idea perceived as risky can be so difficult - even with a superb business plan
- The need for persistence in the face of disappointment and kickback
- The essentials of having a positive cash flow and to closely monitor and respond to the external environment
