Remote Learning Support During Lockdown 2021: Ready-to-use Online Support Courses for GCSE & A-Level Students

The announcement of a new national lockdown from 5 January 2021, the closure of schools and colleges to most students and different arrangements for qualification assessment in summer 2021 places significant pressure on students, teachers, school leaders and parents.

To support effective remote learning during lockdown and beyond, the tutor2u subject expert teams have a comprehensive series of online courses available to teachers and students.

These are designed to provide asynchronous learning resources and support that can be accessed and completed by students in their own time and at their own pace.

Ready-to-use Online Support Courses for GCSE & A-Level Students

tutor2u has a range of self-paced online learning courses that are ideal to support students whose learning is being disrupted by COVID-19 and to help teaching staff deliver high-quality, cost effective remote learning in the weeks and months ahead.

The key benefits to students and teachers of enrolling on tutor2u online courses include:

  • Each course designed and delivered by subject experts and experienced examiners
  • Courses complement rather than replace existing school/college remote learning provision
  • Each course is split into sections featuring an engaging mix of short topic videos, interactive resources and downloads
  • Easy-to-access from any laptop, computer or mobile device - no software to install!
  • Self-paced learning ideal for students self-isolating or classes being taught by cover or non-specialist staff
  • Students can mark and track their progress as they complete each element in the course.

CATCH UP 2021

Our Catch Up courses for 2021 have a strong core knowledge focus and are designed to support the remote learning and in-class provision of schools and colleges. They enable GCSE (Year 11) and A-Level (Year 13) students to quickly and effectively cover key topics and concepts that will still underpin the grades they are awarded through centre-based assessment and whichever other methods are adopted by Ofqual and the exam boards for summer 2021 qualifications.

There are currently 8 Catch Up courses available covering:

GRADE BOOSTER DIGITAL+

These exam-technique focused online courses support Year 11 (GCSE) and Year 13 (A-Level) students preparing for assessments that will provide the evidence used to determine grades in summer 2021 such as internal exams and other centre-based asssements.

The existing 2020 Grade Booster courses (which supported students taking exams in October & November 2020) are now being upgraded with the very latest advice on effective exam technique. Additional exam practice material and key topic support is also being added, making each Grade Booster 2021 course an essential support resource for any student wanting to maximise their performance in centre-based assessments.

There are currently 11 Grade Booster Courses available with more in development for launch in early 2021. Every student who enrols on the 2020 course will automatically by upgraded to the latest 2021 course as soon as each goes live.
