Teacher of Business Studies

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Due to additional demand, we are increasing our intake by over 300 students between 2018 and 2022; we are therefore looking for passionate and innovative teachers and associate staff to join our team!

Penistone Grammar School has a vacancy for a permanent, full-time Teacher of Business Studies with the enthusiasm and drive to join this well-established and successful department and contribute to its ongoing expansion.

You will be a Teacher of Business Studies who has the determination and talent to make a difference in the life of each and every student you teach; a teacher who shares our vision and can inspire our young people to achieve more than they believe is possible. As a school, we pride ourselves on innovative practice, consistently high standards of teaching and learning, and a commitment to the success of all students, both academically and pastorally. If this sounds like you, we want you to be part of our team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of teaching Business Studies, with a proven track record at KS4 and KS5. For candidate information: the exam boards we currently teach are Edexcel (GCSE) and AQA (A Level).

An ability to teach Economics in the future would be advantageous but not essential.

Our school is ‘Good’ poised to be ‘Outstanding’ very soon. We are a vibrant, oversubscribed 11 to 18 comprehensive school with excellent GCSE results across all subjects; we are recognised as one of the highest performing schools in the region in terms of Key Stage 4 outcomes. Our A level results and destinations are equally impressive, with the school placed in the top 1% for performance nationally (according to ALPS) and over 97% of all students gaining entrance to their university or apprenticeship of choice.

We are committed to professional development for all staff, regardless of role. We have an innovative staff development programme, which truly empowers teachers to take control of their own professional development through a supportive peer-coaching model. For those striving for career development, we run annual middle and senior leadership development programmes. Regardless of what point you are at in your career and whatever your aspirations may be, Penistone Grammar School can support you to achieve them.

If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a school where our values are at the heart of all we do and where tradition and innovation perfectly complement each other, we are the school for you.
