About the role

Lichfield Cathedral School are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational person to join our strong and dedicated team, working in the beautiful and historic surroundings of the Cathedral Close. The successful candidate will teach Business Studies and Economics to highly motivated KS4 and KS5 students.

The Department is a very successful department within the school, teaching small classes and gaining excellent results at GCSE (Business Studies) and A Level (both subjects), for pupils of all abilities.

We have high expectations of our students and teach the subjects in a lively and stimulating way that encourages them to learn. A wide variety of approaches and teaching methods are used to develop students’ key skills and the Department also prepares candidates for applications to competitive universities.

As a teacher you will join a thriving team who teach across the age and ability range throughout the school. Suitable candidates will have excellent academic qualifications and an innovative teaching style with a practical focus. It would also be desirable for candidates to have experience in running a BTEC qualification. Although this is not essential, there may be a time allowance given for this to the right candidate.

Your passion for your subject will be clear to the students and you will have an ability to build, develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all students, parents and colleagues alike. As part of a successful department, you will need to have a passion for teaching first class lessons and be prepared to contribute to the wider life of the school.

We are looking for the right candidate to fill this role to continue to deliver the excellent education upon which the school prides itself, as reflected in the most recent inspection report.
