About this event

The workshop sessions during the day are:

Session 1: From the Source

A session focused on source questions, exploring and practising techniques to maximise marks on this style of question.

Session 2: The Big Idea

A session exploring subject content and technique, focused on the Political Ideas topics, exploring key thinkers and the best approaches for the exam. We will mostly be looking at core ideologies but with opportunities for extension work on non-core ideologies too.

Session 3: The Big Essay

A session focused on essay-writing skills and how to write the most effective responses to 30-mark questions.

Session 4: Have I Got News For You?

The post-lunch session is a slightly longer, fast-paced and highly-interactive session looking at current political events, what they mean, and how and where to use them in exam answers this summer. Along the way we'll also test some core specialist knowledge from Components 1 & 2.
