Plastic pollution has become one of the defining environmental issues of the age. Will examiners be looking to give students a chance to analyse and evaluate plastic pollution in a synoptic way? This short video considers some of the micro and macro effects of a tax on plastic products such as coffee cups and plastic food containers.

Global plastic waste by disposal from 1980 to 2015:
– 55% are discarded today
– 25% are incinerated
– and only the remaining 20% are recycled
