France makes childhood vaccinations compulsory

A really interesting example to use when discussing the economic and social impact of vaccinations. In order to prevent a measles epidemic, France has just made many more vaccinations compulsory by law. This follows a similar decision in Italy.
There is widespread concern among many health professionals in Europe that vaccination rates are too low and threaten the effectiveness of herd immunity.
83 per cent of Italians were in favour of the mandated choice according to a recent survey. Non-vaccinated students are not allowed to attend state schools.
