Religious Studies |
|
| Unlike the foundation module, this module is based entirely on the Philosophy of Religion. The module is centred on religious belief and the existence of God, and whether or not a belief in the divine can be justified. You will explore the traditional arguments for the existence of God which set out to prove God's existence through logical reasoning. You will also learn about the occurrence of religious or mystical experiences and whether or not such an experience can justify a belief in God. Furthermore, you will learn how discuss the challenges to religious belief; including the implication of the existence of evil and suffering for an all-loving, all-powerful God, and an understanding of religion according to the disciplines of Sociology and Psychology. | |
