Will avalanche events start to increase?
16th January 2016
The main focus on climate change and its effects is concerned with flooding linked to sea level rise. Whilst we should obviously take the flood risk seriously, the impact on localised climate is likely to be bad. Droughts, increased rain, warmer and milder climates will all be a reality for many around the world. Now this got me thinking...a warmer climate will be a challenge in itself, but what natural hazards could increase as a result of this increased temperature? Avalanches will definitely occur more regularly and with greater ferocity.
