Mercedes-Benz swaps robots for people

Mercedes are altering the nature of their production line - moving away from maximising automation in favour of nimbler robots working alongside human employees. The aim is to reduce production time from 61 hours in 2005 to 30 hours. However, the underlying economics is about the nature of the relationship between labour and capital: it isn't straightforward substitution.
