Launch of the Apple Watch

The long awaited announcement of the launch of the Apple Watch came on March 9th. In a classic and pertinent example of price anchoring, the prices for the watch will begin at $349, with a 18-carat gold version going for more than $10,000. Having spent the last five to ten years buying watches from Marks and Spencer for around £25, I am loathe to shell out more than £250 for a watch myself but Apple consumers are used to paying a premium for any of their products. Chances are that Apple will pretty soon surge to the top of the ranking for the highest selling smart watches in the market (see the graphic below)
