Keynote Speakers

Paul Craven is an expert in the area of behavioural economics. His insights into how and why people make decisions allow Paul to talk on everything from markets to marketing. He has over 27 years’ experience in the investment industry - at Schroders, PIMCO, and latterly Goldman Sachs Asset Management as Head of European Institutional Business. He is a lecturer at the London Business School and one of the most prominent behavioural economics experts in the UK today.

Ha Joon Chang is an economist with an international reputation whose writing is much admired by students and teachers in many countries. He is the author of Bad Samaritans, Kicking away the Ladder and 23 Things they don't tell you about Capitalism. His new book "Economics - A User's Guide" comes out in early May and having read it, I can assure you it will make a superb addition to any school or departmental library! Ha Joon will be speaking on some of the issues raised in his new book but expect the Q&A discussion to range far and wide. This is an opportunity not to be missed!

Gerard Lyons was until recently Chief Economist and Group Head of Global Research for Standard Chartered Bank. His new role is as as Chief Economic Advisor to the Mayor of London. In this job, he provides the Mayor with strategic advice and intelligence on the economic outlook for London and the wider UK, as well as Europe, the emerging economies, and the United States. Gerard's eagerly awaited first is book "Consolations of Economics" -provides an upbeat view about the drivers of world economy and teachers attending the conference will be among the first to be able to grab a signed copy!

Richard Barwell (RBS) Richard is Senior European Economist at RBS Markets & International Banking. He has been working in the economics department at RBS since completing his studies at the LSE and for the last two years, he has been responsible for coverage of the ECB and Euro-crisis as well as underlying research on thematic issues.
