A Eurosceptic View - Roger Bootle on the Trouble with Europe
5th February 2016
Roger Bootle is a well-known economist with euro sceptic views on the future of the European Union. In this one hour lecture delivered at the University of Leeds in the spring of 2015, he outlines the historical expansion of the EU and offers a critical assessment of issues such as fiscal union and monetary union with nineteen heterogeneous countries. I have used this lecture as an introduction to my teaching of European economics for Year 13 students, it provides a telling counter-balance to my own pro-European perspective!
