Leadership & Strategy: Nine Ways Tim Cook Has Transformed Apple Since He Became CEO
12th August 2016
it is now five years since Tim Cook was appointed CEO of Apple. During that period, Apple's revenues have tripled, profits boomed and the business has developed a 1 billion-strong user base. Not bad.
This Fast Company article highlights what it believes are the nine most significant ways in which Tim Cook has transformed Apple since taking over from the legendary Steve Jobs.
Whilst recent media attention has focused somewhat negatively on the decline of iPad sales and the slowing of demand for the iPhone, this article does a good job of highlighting the significant business strengths of Apple.
Notably, the business is developing very strong revenue and profit growth from cloud-based services and content (a sector that Microsoft's Satya Nadella is targeting too).
And of course it's hard to ignore Apple's $250bn cash pile. The business has no shortage of resources to invest in the next big thing.
