Blooming buses

Penny Brooks

8th January 2017

A quick follow up to yesterday's blog about cars with gardens under the bonnet: authorities in Madrid are looking for ways of reducing CO2 emissions and improving the air quality in the city, and have selected a plan to plant gardens on the roofs of buses and bus shelters to reduce pollution. The cost is 2,500 euros per bus - less for a bus shelter - and they have to include special leak-free irrigations systems to keep the passengers underneath dry!
