If you are planning ahead for the Autumn 2010 & Spring 2011 terms, you may wish to look at our programme of Economics CPD and revision/enrichment conferences for students.  The programe for next school year is taking shape nicely and we’ve put together our most comprehensive programme yet.  Here are some brief details with links to more information and booking forms:

teachECON 2010
——————————
Ruth Tarrant (Friday Afternoon Economics and the Open University) & Geoff Riley (Eton College) have developed a new Economics CPD day for October 2010 which will be packed full of innovative approaches, ideas and resources for A Level Economics teaching.  There are two dates for what is already proving to be a very popular, value-for-money CPD day.  Details here:

AS/A2 Economics Revision Workshops 2010/2011
————————————————————————————
The dates and locations for our popular AS & A2 one-day revision workshops are now available, and over 25 schools and colleges have already made provisional bookings for what will once again prove to be very popular, but intensive exam-preparation days. Details here:

Teaching GCSE Economics 2011
——————————————————.

I’m delighted that Amy Chapman & Innes Robinson have agreed to develop and run a CPD day dedicated to GCSE Economics.  This fast-growing subject really does deserve an innovative and resource-filled approach - which is exactly what Amy & Innes are so good at! Here are the details

Making Effective Use of ICT in the Economics & Business Classroom
————————————————————————————————————-

We’re running an ICT day in the Spring too which will give us all a chance to experience (and have a go at) many emerging teaching & learning technologies for Economics.  VLE’s, GoogleDocs, Twitter, iPads, YouTube - we’ll cover them all. Here are the details

The Global Economy
———————————-

In response to many requests from colleagues, we’re also organising Economics student enrichment days during 2010/11 - an event for students to meet, listen to and ask questions of expert speakers to help deepen their understanding of key AS & A2 topics.  The first enrichment day is on the Global Economy and you can find details here

Economics Teacher National Conference 2011
————————————————————————-

Our flagship CPD day every year, and now the biggest gathering of economics teachers in the UK.  Not to be missed. Here are some details.

I do hope that you and your colleagues and students will be able to join the tutor2u Economics team at one or more of the above events during 2010/11.
