This is taken from the Guardian: “The government has persuaded energy suppliers to write to 8 million customers to tell them how to switch payment methods, find lower tariffs and insulate their homes to save energy. The prime minister pledged the big six companies would be “permanently watched” and should put their shoulders to the wheel in what he called a “winter call to action”. However, Labour said the government should have used the “bully pulpit” of government to insist the big six energy companies kept costs down.
