What is the ex-Prez up to these days?
According to an article in today’s Economist, not much. Like all President’s who leave office (if they are still alive), he has immdediately become concerned with his legacy. One of the links on the article page takes you to the George W Bush Presidential Centre. Browsing through the pages I cam across this as part of its mission statement. I found it hilarious:
‘The museum will tell the story of the Bush presidency within the context of the historic challenges of the first decade of the 21st century and how President and Mrs. Bush worked to advance the core governing principles of freedom, opportunity, responsibility and compassion.’ I wonder what the Iraqis will think about the last word. Or those in/or who have been through Gitmo? Or have been rendered extraordinarily.
For those of you who are intent on attempting a question on the presidency topic this summer, a reminder of a an excellent overview of the Bush years from the Economist is here.
