US elections: swift boat to swift kids?

Whilst the US election gets more base by the minute, it’s unlikely to have reached its nadir. A raft of anti-Obama books have been released recently, with echoes of the anti-Kerry moves in 2004. But perhaps McCain was right when he said that you need to retain a sense of humour. Obama better watch out that he isn’t swift kidded
Today’s Times reports that:
‘Barack Obama’s campaign for the presidency is scrambling to stem a stream of false allegations modelled on the “Swift Boat” smears that helped to defeat the last Democratic nominee, John Kerry, four years ago.
A new book written by Jerome Corsi, entitled The Obama Nation, leapt to No 1 in the bestseller lists this week with claims that the Illinois senator is a closet Muslim, a black militant and takes cocaine.’
Meanwhile, the same paper lists the Republican nominee’s 10 worst jokes
