Down the left hand side of this page, often newsmax ask you to vote on whether Sarah Palin would get your vote in 2012.  She is the theme of this posting.

The first page I turn to when I get the Sunday papers is Andrew Sullivan’s column in the news review section of the Sunday Times.  In this weekend’s paper he lays out the hypothesis that the ex governor of Alsaska and VP nominee for the GOP 2008 will get her party’s nomination.  This flies in the face of the Washington consensus but I agree with Sullivan, largely because there is a tremendous disconnect between the liberal city intelligentsia and the rural and working class that seem captivated by her.

I’m not sure about the pay to use Times service, though have signed up for a trial.  If you have done the same, you can access his article here.

Palin does make fascinating viewing, and it is clear from these two clips why she polarises opinion.

Palin as motivator, and expressing her “folksy charm” (this really matters in the US that in a way that we just don’t appreciate here) is the first clip.

Her gaffes during exposure to the mainstream media in 08 is the second one.
