With only days to go until American voters (well just over 100,000 of them in Iowa’s case) begin the formal process of deciding who will become the nominee for the two main parties, the blog suggests a site to get readers up to speed.

 

For example, did you know that Rudy Giuliani, the favourite for the Republican nomination first shot to national attention as the US Attorney who helped convict eight mafia ‘bosses’ (some of which served as inspiration for characters in the TV series The Sopranos) in the 1980s?  Or that Giuliani and Hillary Clinton sized each other up in a race for the New York Senate seat in 2000 before Giuliani was forced to withdraw with cancer?
