Appointing a Manager
One of the first decisions to take is to appoint a new team manager for Duncastle.
Just before your appointment, Duncastle’s team manager (Archie Waters) was sacked for poor performance. So your first important task as Chairman is to recruit a replacement. To do this, you’ll need to enter the Boardroom. Click on the Boardroom door to go through to this room.
On the wall you can see a blank portrait (the picture of the previous manager has just been removed). Click on this to take you to the Manager selection screen. Use this picture anytime during the game if you want to change the Manager.
There are six potential Managers from which to choose. This is an important decision.
There is a direct relationship between the quality of the Manager and the success of the team. Each potential recruit differs in terms of:
* Experience of the profession (i.e. a proven track record of success)
* Expertise in the transfer market (i.e. the ability to “wheel and deal” in the transfer market)
* Leadership qualities (i.e. the ability to inspire and motivate players to make them perform at a higher level)
* Coaching qualities (i.e. the ability to develop the skills of the playing squad, particularly the younger ones, over a period of time)
You will find a brief profile of each Manager by clicking the relevant picture.
Only you can decide what you want in a Manager. But don’t forget that you have to pay for quality, including high weekly wages and possible compensation to his present club.
Once you have chosen your prefered Manager, you need to offer him a contract. Check the total compensation to be paid and the weekly wages. If you are happy, click on Sign Contract.
Once you have appointed your new Manager, you will see his portrait hanging proudly on the Boardroom wall.
The question is - will he still be there by the end of the first season?
