I like to think that I have played my part in this story. Since moving to Cheltenham last year I have discovered Waitrose and quite frankly I would now be lost without them. Waitrose have this week announced weekly sales growth of 12.1%. Waitrose now hold 4.2% of sales in the market compared to 3.7% of sales by M&S.

This is the first time this has happened in its 105 year history. This article explains further. An increase in sales can be attributed to Waitrose strategy to beat the recession, by extending their value brand Essentials.

They have also pushed their delivery service quite heavily. Looking at the applications on my iPhone the over day I noticed a new free application which allows you to do your Waitrose shopping on your iPhone and then have it delivered.
