Has Sainsbury’s won the price war?

Supermarkets have been slashing prices as competition to attract recession-hit shoppers heats up, and Sainsbury’s said it had lowered price tags on 7,000 products since the start of the year.
The group’s customer numbers have grown to 18.5 million a week as it has stolen market share from its bigger rival Tesco. This article can also be used to introduce economies of scale, as Sainsbury’s announces expansion plans.
