Royal Mint seem to have made a bit of a mistake! They have somehow managed to produce a batch of 20 pence coins without the date on. This makes them the first undated British coins for over 20 years.

This BBC article explains it further.

This brings us nicely into a discussion about money. Perhaps getting students to think about what we use money for (a means of deferred payment, share of value, unit of account, and medium of exchange). This can be quite a dry part of the course at the best of times so using this article may stimulate a good discussion and some active learning.
