What You Need to Know About Economics

Our good friend George Buckley - a senior economist with Deutsche Bank - has a new paperback hitting the bookshelves in early January. I suspect that the early New Year publishing deadline is in response to publishing industry worries that the new book could do serious damage to the rest of the Christmas best-seller lists! So we will have to wait a few weeks to grab a copy!

Economics matters.  It determines everything from the price of this book, to how much your house costs, and whether or not you have a job.  But it always seems quite hard to understand. “What You Need to Know about Economics” makes it easy, explaining: What economic growth is and why it matters How inflation happens Why credit is important How jobs are created and lost How expensive your house is What central banks do and how it affects the rest of us Cutting out the theory and concentrating on the kind of economics you need to know to do your job better and understand the world around you, you’ll never look sheepish when someone mentions GDP and interest rates again.

What You Need to Know About Economics is aimed at a broad audience - students, business people and those with a keen general interest in the subject - a super way of learning about economics from first principles and written in a relatively informal and accessible style. It is already listed on Amazon for pre-order - click here for details.
