The return of the fiver

At a time of consumer budgets being tightened, following the summer trial, the Bank of England has reforms in place to ensure all banks offer £5 notes, dispensed from cash machines.
Although the fiver note will have to have a face-lift if this is to work on a long term basis - since the velocity of circulation of a fiver is much higher than a £50, the fiver gets damaged much more quickly and becomes incompatible with cash machines.
