A HOD vacancy this time - many thanks to our colleagues at Culford School for letting us have first details of this opportunity:
Head of Economics and Business Studies
Culford School, Suffolk
Economics and Business Studies are taught in the Sixth Form. Numbers studying the subjects are healthy with approximately fifteen and twenty five pupils opting for Economics and Business Studies at AS level respectively. In the upper sixth, at A2 level, there are generally ten pupils continuing with Economics and fifteen pupils continuing with Business Studies. Projected numbers for the next academic year are extremely healthy for both subjects.
The Department is well equipped, with generous textbook and specialist book provision, and there are two classrooms with interactive white boards and internet access. Current staffing levels are the full-time Head of Department together with a full time teacher of Economics and Business Studies and a part-time teacher of Business Studies.
The Department currently follows the Edexcel specification in Economics and the AQA specification in Business Studies. It has a strong tradition of successful results at A level.
The position would suit an enthusiastic, dynamic and well-qualified teacher who is imaginative and forward thinking and keen to regard this as an exciting opportunity for further career development.
