Here is a brief selection of journals with an economics / business / financial slant that offer free access to readers. There are some super pieces in each and articles from them might well be used as part of a strategy to stretch the gifted and talented.

Chatham House - The World Today

In an increasingly unpredictable world, The World Today presents authoritative analysis on a variety of current topics in each monthly issue. It provides a vital background for experts, business planners, academics and those curious about the world we live in. The current edition is available as free access. Follow this link

Royal Society of Arts (RSA)
The RSA Journal provides a rich source of fresh articles on citizenship, politics and society, commerce, education and the arts. Follow this link

LSE Centrepiece
CentrePiece is the magazine of economic performance published quarterly by the LSE. Nearly all of the articles are suitable for teachers wanting to deepen their understanding of current micro and macro policy issues. Follow this link

British Academy Review

This is a superb publication of great value to Economics and Politics teachers. The most recent edition for example focused on electoral systems and constitutional change under Labour. Follow this link

Vox EU

VoxEU.org is a policy portal set up by the Centre for Economic Policy Research in conjunction with a consortium of national sites. Vox aims to promote research-based policy analysis and commentary by leading scholars. Mainly focused on professional economists and those in Higher Education but with value added for teaching economists in Post-16 schools and colleges. Follow this link

Royal Economic Society

The RES publishes the Economic Journal. http://www.res.org.uk/economic/ejbrowse.asp. Visitors can browse the list of issues and the abstracts, but sadly you have to be a signed in member to be able to view the full articles. However the RES web site also publishes the media press releases of interesting pieces. These are available here
