More inequality - and it’s a good thing!

The following graphic is worth showing to your students as a stimulus for having a discussion about inequality as it gives a historical perspective of the gap between rich and poor.

The graph lacks somewhat in detail but the point is clear to see, although inequality has increased, overall citizens of the world are better off than before. I will leave you to draw your own conclusions as to whether you agree with the sentiments - that more inequality is a natural result of everyone becoming richer!

The source for the graphic can be seen on the picture, and is unsurprisingly a pro-capitalist, pro-freedom, anti-government website.
